When the Anheuser-Busch wholesaler, Ben E. Keith Beverage Distributors, decided to renovate their headquarters in Dallas, Texas, the company enlisted Data Projections to customize and integrate an audio visual solution that would improve communication and information distribution throughout the company. Viewing real-time sales data was key to continued growth and content sharing from any device would allow for more productive and efficient meetings. The project involved the challenge of customizing a digital video distribution system and making each meeting room similar in function with limited equipment within the room. Data Projections thoroughly evaluated the needs of Ben E. Keith Beverages and was able to accommodate the requirements for this very specific and customized solution.
The Conference Rooms
. Ben E. Keith Beverages needed meeting room spaces that were tailored to presenting and sharing content from any type of device. Keeping the rooms simple to use, with limited accessibility to equipment was also important for continuity and management of the technology. Data Projections partnered with AMX to implement the Enova DGX system, centrally locating the switching and processing equipment; leaving only the display, input connections, and control panels in the rooms.
In the executive boardroom, a large plasma display was installed as the primary display. Due to the importance of aesthetics in this high end room, Data Projections worked alongside the millwork contractors to design a custom motorized door system that hides the large display when not in use. Multiple laptop inputs were hidden within the boardroom table, making it simple to plug in and present from any device. The room is controlled by a customized wireless touch panel equipped with a wall mounted docking station for charging.
In two small conference rooms, 85” displays were installed, used primarily for presentation purposes, with laptop connections along the conference table and a wireless touch panel for easy controls.
The Executive Offices
. In over twenty different executive suites, large LED displays were installed to view news channels, weather and stock information. Each of these units are controlled by a customized touch panel located on the executives’ desk; enabling compatibility with all devices.
The Sales Briefing Rooms
. Distribution of automated, real-time sales statistics, displayed throughout the sales area, was crucial to this solution. Previously, metrics were updated manually using dry erase boards and paper print-outs posted within the sales briefing room, which was ineffective and inefficient. Finding a digital signage solution that could automate the process of pulling data from their reporting system on a scheduled basis and displaying it throughout the sales floors was imperative for efficiency. Data Projections partnered with Visix to create a custom interface between their signage solution and Ben E. Keith’s reporting software. Data is now routed to a 3x3 Samsung LED video wall installed on the sales floor and to all 40” displays installed in the building.
Data Projections has provided Ben E. Keith Beverages with a technologically advanced solution that was designed for continued growth and compatibility with future digital video technologies. The solutions provided have enabled presenters to hold more productive and informative meetings by sharing content from any device as well as becoming more efficient in data analysis. Throughout the sales floors, the teams are presented with real-time sales data and pipeline updates. Overall, the integrated solution has enabled Ben E. Keith to enhance communication and operations throughout its facilities.
