A division of Harper Industries, Inc. in Paducah, Ky., Frontier Materials Concrete LLC employees were required to fly from Houston to the parent company on a regular basis for meetings, costing up to $80,000 a year in travel expenses and untold hours in lost employee time.
Data Projections provided Frontier with a videoconferencing system that is easy to use and backed by outstanding support. Data Projections' solution included Polycom videoconferencing equipment, an audio and video switching box, 2 HD video projectors, a wireless touch control panel and an audio amplifier for the company's 16 feet X 26 feet conference room. More importantly, it was designed so anyone in the office could go into the conference room and use the system.
Significant travel cost savings have been realized, meetings are now more efficient with attendees getting more out of the face-to-face discussions, and employee time is maximized. Frontier uses the videoconferencing system for all its safety meetings with the corporate office, as well as H.R. and mining operation meetings. The company's CEO also meets with the president and owner of the corporate office via the system.
