When JV Driver built an office in Deer Park, a surrounding area east of Houston, to be closer to the petrochemical plants crucial to their operations, they knew their employees needed to stay connected to their Canadian headquarters. Reducing travel expenses and understanding the return on investment in technology would be paramount. They also wanted to provide a first class board room to host client meetings for the plant engineering industry.
Data Projections’ partnership with Professional Systems Network International (PSNI) initially brought to light JV Driver’s need for an interactive whiteboard. Upon further discussion to understand the client’s need for continuous collaboration, Data Projections suggested an environment that included videoconferencing, a variety of display capabilities, interactive technology, room control systems and crisp audio quality.
JV Driver wanted a solution that would meet all of their technical and aesthetic requests while bridging the distance amongst their offices. Data Projections was able to provide JV Driver with a complete room solution that incorporated all of their communication essentials in a showcase facility.
- The boardroom showcases three separate display areas for content sharing and videoconferencing. At the front of the room is a 70” display with videoconferencing capabilities. Already utilizing Microsoft Lync, JV Driver plans to use videoconferencing via Lync to communicate more effectively. The display and camera will provide additional videoconferencing support and capabilities.
- A 70” interactive flat panel display was mounted on a side wall and will provide complete touch-enabled interactivity for content sharing, note taking and quick note distribution.
- On the far end, a 109” diagonal screen was installed with retractable capabilities. A white HD projector was ceiling mounted to provide a clear, bright image and tie into the aesthetics of the room, an important aspect Data Projections needed to accommodate.
Data Projections also installed a control system in which the iPad touch panel controls the electronic whiteboard, audio system, projector, screen and display. The ease of use of the control system was crucial to JV Driver’s adoption of the technology. Data Projections provided a solution that fulfills this important aspect of any technology integration.
For audio enhancement and quality, Data Projections installed a ceiling mounted speaker system and wireless table microphones that would provide clear sound amplification.
With JV Driver’s remote location in Houston equipped with collaboration technology, employees will remain connected to their company headquarters in Canada. JV Driver will benefit financially from a significant reduction in travel expenses due to face-to-face meetings over videoconference and content sharing via the interactive electronic whiteboards. Having a first class boardroom will provide JV Driver with the opportunity to showcase their products and services to clients in an innovative way they have not experienced before. The boardroom has become a point of pride; showcasing JV Driver’s cutting edge capabilities in all they do.
